• LRWT Location Update

The Little Red Wagon Train is now back in Sanderson, Texas after reaching the thousand miles walked pulling the "friggin'" wagon since September 2009! Here's the 535-mile route I took from San Antonio.

  • What’s With the Bananas?

What's with the bananas? Bananas are great, clean burning fuel and a healthy gift I hand out as "Thanks!" to those who show acts of kindness along the LRWT journey. What's great, too, is their "packaging" can simply be thrown back to Mother Nature. Here's the bananas indepth...

LRWT in Savanna, Illinois — Photo by Lori Gum

The LRWT project reached its 1,000 milestone walked when I stepped into Roswell, New Mexico on April 14, 2010. The journey began in Madison, Wisconsin in the fall of 2009. Right now I am hunkered down in Sanderson, Texas – a place with a hometown appeal I was fortunate to run (sic!) into  — “provisioning” supplies for the next journey in the near future.

A More Immediate Goal
While many of you have commented on how well the photography has appeared on this blog, I am working to secure a more professional-quality camera for true art’s sake.

I presently use a simple Canon PowerShot A420 4.0 pixel; I have an extensive background in digital layout and design and I KNOW how important it is to have the best possible images to work with!

If yourself or someone you know would like to offer such a camera at a good price or as a donation or by some other bargaining, please email me at littleredwagontrain@gmail.com.

Thanks! Jeff

Here’s how you can “walk along” with the LRWT Journey…
three simple ideas for you or someone you know to help out. Thanks in advance!

ONE

Numero Uno – Your comments here on the LRWT blog make it all the more valuable! At the end of each Post is a field where you can leave your Comment for other LRWT readers.

TWO

Money Is Evil – But money is necessary. I think of the LRWT project as my job, and can be an important record of our time. If you believe in this project too, you can help fund a small portion yourself or perhaps get a little LRWT group together to help out. Who knows where this’ll all end up! You can donate securely through PayPal:

Or, you can mail dollars and cents to:

Little Red Wagon Train
P.O. Box 260162
Madison, WI  53726

Please make payable to Jeff Alexander/Little Red Wagon Train. Evil money is deposited at the UW Credit Union in Madison, Wisconsin.

THREE

A Simple Little Wish List

  • Food - If you see a dude pulling a friggin’ little red wagon please please give him fooooood! On the journey I’m an eating machine.
  • Rest – If you see me out there pulling the wagon, a great gift is always a good, safe place, like a back yard, you can offer for me to set up the tent for the night.
  • Video Camera It would be great to YouTube this project in style! Any ol’ video digital camera you have lying around will probably do!

Donations can be sent to:

P.O. Box 260162

Thank you!  Jeff

  1. If your trip brings you through Houston, Texas I would be honored to give you a place to lay your head for a few nights. I am an acquaintance of your brother, Wyn. He can vouch for me… I’m not TOO crazy. :-)

I wish you the very best and I think this is a wonderful idea. I will be following closely and sending donations as I can.
